The Institute of History of the Research Centre for the Humanities of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the BAS Institute for Historical Studies, and the Bulgarian–Hungarian Joint Academic Commission of Historians organized an international conference on Contacts and Conflicts in Central and Southeast Europe: Hungarian and Bulgarian Approaches on May 13–14, 2014, in Budapest.
The conference was realized within the frame of the joint academic project ’Shared Pasts in Central and Southeast Europe: New Sources, New Approaches’. The languages of the conference were English, German and Russian. The conference was opened by Her Excellency, Biserka Benisheva, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria, Pál Fodor, Director General of HAS RCH, Valery Stoyanov, Chairman of the Bulgarian Part of the Hungarian–Bulgarian Joint Academic Commission of Historians, and Imre Ress, Chairman of the Hungarian Part of the Hungarian–Bulgarian Joint Academic Commission of Historians. The event was supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Hungary and the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Budapest.
