As a result of two years’ work of the “Momentum Holy Crown Research Team” of HAS RCH Institute of History, an exhibition was opened in the Castle of Pozsony (Bratislava) on July 15th, 2014, organized by the Slovenské národné múzeum–Historické múzeum and the Hungarian National Museum about the crowning coins published for the Hungarian royal crowning ceremonies held in Pozsony (Bratislava) between 1563 and 1830.

In the “Momentum Young Researchers’ Program” of the HAS (Hungarian Academy of Sciences, MTA) RCH Institute of History “Momentum” Holy Crown Research Team led by Géza Pálffy (senior research fellow and leader of the Early Modern History Research Team of the Institute of History) has been receiving priority support from July 2012 (to June 2017) for systematic research and analysis of the history of the crowning ceremonies and the Hungarian Holy Crown from 1526 to 1916. The main objective of the interdisciplinary project entitled “Representations of the State and the Nation in Early Modern Hungary: the Hungarian Coronation Ceremonies and the Holy Crown (1526–1916)” is a thorough examination of the early modern history of the Holy Crown and the coronation ceremonies of Hungarian kings and queens in the 16–20th centuries (in Székesfehérvár, Pozsony/Bratislava, Sopron, Buda, Budapest). The interdisciplinary research project includes researchers of various fields, institutions and even countries. The international cooperation of Hungarian and Slovakian researchers and institutions resulted in this trilingual (Hungarian, Slovak, English) excellent exhibition, which can be seen until January 18th, 2015. An illustrated and detailed (150 pages) bilingual catalogue compiled by Géza Pálffy, the leader of the research team is attached to the exhibition, as the first volume of the research project.
