During its European tour on 31 May, 2012, the delegation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) arrived in Hungary. The six delegates, led by CASS Vice President Li Shenming, were welcomed by HAS Vice President Miklós Maróth in the main building of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
For many years there has been a successful scientific cooperation with regular exchange of scholars between the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Several from the projects running at present can be connected with the Institute of History, Research Centre for the Humanities, as the HAS Institute of Ethnology and the Institute of History had earlier established a close relationship with some CASS research institutes on the fields of orientalistics, ethnology and history. These and other topics were discussed with the Chinese delegation at the meeting after the welcome by Acting Deputy Director of the HAS RCH Balázs Balogh and Deputy Director of HAS RCH Institute of History Attila Pók.
Relationships established with significant scientific workshops of the European Union are important for the Chinese partner. The negotiators agreed that the HAS can be a special partner of leading Chinese scientific institutions in scientific work.
